Stavros and the Truck Stop

I was just reading an article about politeness and was reminded of the time Stavros came home with a new haircut.

He’d decided that he needed a haircut there and then. As in “immediately”.  He never makes appointments and will get to crisis point (ie his hair gets massive) and then he’ll frantically ring round every hairdresser he can think of to try to sort it out. This is usually an hour or two before some big event.

On this occasion, his hair looked rather strange after the cut. He explained that he’d had his hair cut at a truck stop. No idea what possessed him to do that. He kept pulling at both sides, trying to figure out the problem.

Then he said “I think its longer on one side”.

Oh dear. Then he said “She was a bit weird when she cut my hair. She never moved.”

I asked him what he meant and he explained that the truck-stop barber-ette only cut from one side of his head. So the other side was, well, not good. But he said not a word!

He really did not look like he’d just stepped out of a salon.
